Second National Axe Throwing Championship Sekiromet® WATL Slovenia 2020
On 22 of January 2020, we start with the second Winter League which will be considered as a qualification for the National Axe Throwing Championship Sekiromet® WATL Slovenia 2020.
Sekiromet® has become one of the most popular (and also the sexiest) social activities in a single year. Every Slovenian has already heard of this new sport as it has been reported practically by all newspapers, magazines, online media and television in Slovenia.
We went on a tour with our Mobile Axe Throwing Unit from Triglav to Belgrade (Serbia), and in May 2019, at the First National Championship we proclaimed the First National Axe Throwing Champion Sekiromet® WATL Slovenia 2019: Zvone Turk from Kočevje!
CALENDAR – 4 TOURNAMENTS + CHAMPIONSHIP
Four preliminary tournaments will be held once a month, on Wednesdays:
- 22nd of January,
- 12th of February,
- 18th of March
- 15th of April
at the Axe Throwing Europe® Center at Kajuhova 35.
The final (fifth) tournament which is considered as the National Axe Throwing Championship Sekiromet® WATL Slovenia 2020 will be held on Friday, 15 of May 2020.
Each preliminary tournaments will be a stand-alone tournament with 40 throws per player. In addition, this year we introduce a “play-off” competition for the best 16 players, which will give us the winner of each tournament.
To participate at the final tournament, each player has to participate in at least 3 out of 4 preliminary tournaments and has to have enough points to rank among the 16 finalists.
Of course! The league is primarily a matter of recreation, socializing and trying out something new. Most people at the events will be beginners.
The age of the competitors is determined by the rules of the tournament center. At Axe Throwing Europe® we recommend that children are at least 12 years old – underage competitors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Winners of the previous tournaments in Slovenia have scored just over 200 points.
